Montane have combined a vest harness with a hip belt and fitted it to the 18 litre Trailblazer pack, making it surely one of the most stable packs available. With generous pockets on the shoulder straps and hip belt its very much about accessibility on the move, if you’re trying to go fast you don’t want to stop to put gloves away! On the front of the pack there’s a non-bellowed pocket with a full length zip and a couple of helpful pouches stitched inside, one with a zip.

The main compartment is fuss free though there’s a separate compartment for a bladder sitting between your back and the main compartment, this is very useful as it makes refilling extremely quick and easy.

The back panel is simply a foam pad, probably adequate for an 18 litre load. The pack is aimed at fast moving days in the mountains and it will suit runners and mountain marathoners.
