Using weather resistant PERTEX® QUANTUM, 100% recycled 40g/m2PrimaLoft® Silver insulation and upgraded with a lightweight nylon lining; the Prism Jacket has a climbing helmet hood and good pocket options. Stuffing inside its hand pocket means it packs down small so it can be kept in your pack for a warm, windproof and weather resistant layer in almost any mountain weather.

Our Verdict

Montane’s Prism Insulated Jacket is a year round insulation workhorse.  Light and packable enough to always have in your pack on to boost warmth when needed whether its a chilly evening at camp or are eating your summit sandwiches in a biting wind or a lengthy belay stint.

Warmth is provided by the 100% recycled Primaloft silver insulation which along with the Pertex Quantum outer results in considerable water resistance. An internal storm flap on the main zip helps keep the warmth in and the weather out. The Prism Jacket has 2 large hand warmer pockets, the right hand pocket doubles as a stuff sack with clip in loop. There is small external chest pocket as well.

The helmet compatible hood has an excellent stiffened brim which gives you extra protection from the elements. The hood can be simply cinched to size as can the hem. The wrist cuffs are elasticated for a heat sealing fit.
