The Krypton Jacket is constructed using unique GRANITE High-Loft in the core body, a breathable, stretchy softshell fabric with a high loft brushed interior which traps heat and effectively manages moisture, keeping you comfortable during faster paced activity in cool, changeable conditions. A DWR helps shed light rain. With 3 pockets and a neat collar for layering, this jacket is well equipped for mountain walking and scrambling.

Our Verdict

In the warmer months, early spring or late summer this can be worn as a base layer, then in winter can be incorporated into a layering system. Has 2 mesh-lined pockets which help with breathability and also help at ventilating heat, and a zipped chest pocket for keys etc.  

 Has a DWR so it’s capable of shedding light rain, but I wouldn’t want to be out in a storm in just this jacket.  The main body is made of a soft-shell material, called GRANITE High-Loft, which is the same material used to make Montane’s famous stretch pants, whereas the underarm, up until the arm pit, is made from a fleece-like material called low loft. The hard-wearing softshell excels at trapping heat, whilst also allowing moister to evaporate, at the same time as the fleece helps keep you cool when you are active.
