Our Verdict

Montane’s Icarus XT Mitts are immediately warm, super comfortable and easy to use which is ideal for cold, wet conditions. the Primaloft Black insulation provides plenty of warmth to fight off the cold while the pile fleece inner also works really well adding to the warmth while making them really comfortable. With two adjustments up the wrist to keep the warmth in they work really well.

The outer is surprisingly hard wearing while the use of goat leather on the palms increase grip, durability and make them more practical. Hang loops, an elasticated leash and a solid loop for pulling them onto went hands are an added bonus. If you are looking for a synthetic mitt for the cold weather then I’d find it difficult to look past these having used them a few times.
