Our Verdict

Montane’s Anti-Freeze Down Jacket gives you really good warmth for the weight of it. The outer material feels soft and shiny but still much more durable than many other lightweight down jackets these days. The inner is filled with 210g of 750+ FP Down while the interlocking baffles across the back and slanted baffles down the front look great and work well. These are simple stitch through baffles so the cost has stayed much lower than box wall options.

With three zip pockets and an internal stretch mesh pocket, this jacket has plenty going on. It comes with a roll top, waterproof dry bag for safe storage when you’re not wearing it. The hood is particularly impressive with full adjustability and a solid peak that can withstand the worst conditions.
